National Bullyin Awareness Week Kicks Off!

When we sat down and thought about how we could make our presence felt during National Bullying Awareness Week, we wanted to make an impact. We wanted to be different. We wanted to be bold.
We started with a mantra- The Strong Shall Lead the Week. We truly believe here at I Am Stronger that our supporters, our followers and our friends have the ability to influence their communities and schools FAR more than they think. I Am Stronger supporters have the ability to influence social change- to be leaders. When we kicked off the week by releasing a special icon for people to use on their Facebook and Twitter profiles. The profile has popped up all over the world with people from Australia, London, Germany and the United States becoming part of the movement and spreading the I Am Stronger message to a global audience.

Next, we went to North Battleford and kicked off the week in style- as part of the amazing and unreal Bully Free Battlefords event. The day dedicated to bringing attention to bullying in the community was positive, enlightening and empowering. Nearly 500 people participated in the free event and got a chance to learn more about the supports around them, take in powerful speakers and rock out to a few bands who played for people during the event. Unkle Adams stole the show with his empowering message and a live performance of his Anti-Bullying Anthem “I Am Stronger”.

Today, our friends Brian Trainor and Unkle Adams helped spread the I Am Stronger message by speaking with several different media outlets about their thoughts on the issues surrounding bullying and how I Am Stronger can help influence social change.

For the remainder of the week, I Am Stronger will be working with Athletes in Action, bringing some of the biggest stars of the CFL stars to Saskatchewan during Grey Cup week to speak to a variety of high schools across the province about the impacts of bullying. Over the next three days, I Am Stronger and AIA will be in 23 different schools spreading our message and building a greater audience.
What’s next? Well, we still have a few more tricks up our sleeves here. Look for an exciting announcement about the I Am Stronger website coming later in the week, and something that we hope will help promote I Am Stronger in a bold and unique way as well.

We are the change we’ve been waiting for.

You are the leaders that are making it all happen.
